Energy drinks rely mainly on organic additions, while advertising is underused: organic additions represented 67.7% of the 12-month window, compared with 28.4% from leaflets and 3.9% from ads. The organic share was lower than in seven of nine other subcategories and higher than in two, including subcategory Isotonic drinks at 68.5% and subcategory Ready-to-drink iced teas at 65.1%. Advertising was underused relative to eight of nine other subcategories; only one other subcategory had a higher ad share.
